WHAT IS THE BIG 6 FOUNDATION
Big Six Foundation, founded in 2014 as a Dad’s event, was sold at an Elementary School auction to help raise money for the PTA. We asked ourselves, if we could do this at our school, could we raise the bar and get other schools involved to create a sense of community between our ISD partners? Could we raise even more money by bringing in local sponsors that would also benefit from broadening their customer base by giving back to the schools in their communities?
From this idea, the Big Six Foundation was formed. The Big Six hosts an annual cornhole event that features schools from Richardson ISD. Our mission is to support the financial shortfalls of the participating schools by donating proceeds from the event. These funds have been used to start gardens, improve playground equipment, purchase smart boards, provide lunches to students that can’t afford to buy them and even make it possible for children to go on camp outs and day trips that do not have the means financially.
The event has grown from one of the founder’s backyards with 40 dads to over 500 people at the event with corporate sponsors at professional locations. We are recognized as a 501©3 so all donations are tax deductible and our founders and board are committed to making sure that 75% of the money raised goes to the schools.
This is only the beginning as the goal is to set this up where we can give the event to other school districts, so they have a turnkey way to raise money for their schools. This would allow more involvement from parents and rally community businesses to support the future of our children.

FAQ
How many games are guaranteed?
This is a double elimination tournament.
Dads only?
This is a Co-ed Tournament. ADULTS ONLY
What is included with the spectator pass (Party Pass)?
Ticket. Beer, and Food. The only difference is you can not win the trophy or brag how cool you are.
Are all the payouts back to the PTAs the same or will it be results based?
No, the payouts to the PTAs will not be the same. Each schools PTA will receive a minimum donation. This will be set at $3,500 (subject to change based on participation) Our hope is to increase this payout. On to the good stuff, the remaining funds raised less expenses will be divided according to where your school finishes. Point systems and rules will be provided to each team captain.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There is very limited parking around the facility should you choose to drive. We encourage all of you to UBER or Lyft. Be Safe.
Is this only open to current (fill in the school name) parents and Alumni?
Yes. Although we will not be ensuring all participants meet this criteria, we will ensure any prize winners are associated with the school they are playing with.
Refund Policy?
We will do everything in our power to make sure the event goes on as planned, but in the event we can not play for any reason there will be no refunds. If the Corn Hole portion of the event is cancelled the food, beverages and T-shirts will still go on and the money will be divided evenly amongst the schools.
